Brazilian soldiers will protect Pope Francis in its time of visit to the South American country. General José Abreu, the member of command reported about it at a press conference at Rio-de-Janeiro .

Over six thousand police officers and Brazilian intelligence services are involved in safety of the pontiff.

So, the ships of Naval Forces will patrol waters in proximity from Copacabana beach, where the Pope will carry out church service. Air Force helicopters will cover all movement of the head of Vatican from air.

Besides, the military personnel will provide a cordon of the huge open area in the Rio de Janeiro center where more than one million people have to gather for actions with participation of the Pope.

As report the Brazilian mass media, the pontiff expressed desire to move in an open jeep. This fact causes big concern among representatives of the Brazilian security officers.

Pope will visit Brazil on July 22 – 28 and will take part in the World days of Catholic youth. From all corners planets will gather more than one and a half million people. Brazilian state will spend for support of carrying out this action more than 145 million dollars.

However, also are expected protest demonstrations against state expenditures on actions of Catholic church.
